International Dance Shoes offers many different heel options in order to satisfy the varying functional and aesthetic preferences of their customers. When choosing which heel best suits your needs, please take into consideration the following points: the heel height, the heel shape and the surface area of the heel tip. Overall, it is important to note that the lower the height of the heel, and the wider the surface area of the heel tip, the more balance and stability that the dance shoe will provide. As a result, it is generally recommended that younger dancers, as well as those with less dance experience, consider choosing dance shoes with heels that are slightly shorter in height and have slightly larger heel tips.
IDS HEEL
The IDS heel is one of the most popular heel options chosen by dancers all around the world. With a structure that is designed to be slightly flared in shape, the IDS heel tip has the greatest surface area out of all heel styles that are above 1.5” in height. This inevitably allows for more balance and stability when worn on the dance floor. The Equal Dance Initiative offers the IDS heel in 2”, 2.5” and 3" for all Ladies Ballroom and American Smooth dance shoe styles, as well as 2”, 2.5”, 3” and 3.5" for all Ladies Latin dance shoe styles.

The Elite heel is slimmer in shape and, in comparison to the other heel options, is centred slightly further down the arch of the shoe. Even though this style’s heel tip has slightly less surface area, it still provides a superlative level of comfort, balance and stability for dancers of all ages and all levels. The Equal Dance Initiative offers the Elite Heel in 2.5” and 3” for all Ladies Latin dance shoe styles, as well as 2” and 2.5” for all Ladies American Smooth dance shoe styles.
